- Background: Wearable sensors are used in digital health applications, e.g. in stroke rehabilitation to analyse patient motion.
However, stroke patients require assistance to attach body-worn
sensors, which limits sensor-based observation to clinics. Remote,
unsupervised monitoring could help gaining more insights in patients'
daily live. Hence, assistive robotics might enable attachment of bodyworn sensors without the need of clinical assistance.
Aim: In this seminar, we will replace the micro-controller of the
existing robot (Mark II), with a Raspberry Pi, to facilitate enhanced
interaction between the user and the robot. Beside auditory interaction,
we will focus on the visual guidance system using a TFT display.
Learning Objectives: Students will learn different aspects of a systems engineering project including electronics, software engineering, mechanics and system usability.
- Literature
- Up-to-date literature recommendations will be provided during the seminar.
