2 SWS, Sprache Englisch, Description: The importance of high-throughput sequencing (‘omics’) technologies in biomedical research and also diagnosis has been steadily increasing. Functional genomics aims at understanding the complex relationship between genotype and phenotype at a genome-wide level by looking at gene expression and transcriptional regulation. With a mixture of frontal lectures and practical sessions, the course will introduce students to the high-throughput technologies used in functional genomics and the fundamental principles of the analysis of these data.
