- This class complements the advanced-level seminar "Standard Language and Standardisation Processes in the History of English".
Participants are required to prepare translations at home on a weekly basis.
Das Übung gehört in folgenden Studiengängen jeweils zu folgenden Modulen:

- This class complements the advanced-level seminar "Standard Language and Standardisation Processes in the History of English".
In this class we will discover the standardisation processes at work in different historical stages of English through representative texts from the respective periods. The participants will read and translate early English texts. Further, we will discuss linguistic standardisation processes on various linguistic levels (e.g. orthography, morphosyntax and lexis) exhibited in these texts.
The participants are required to prepare translations at home on a weekly basis.
