Accurate coronary vessel segmentation in 3D C-arm CT data

The goal of this project is the development and assessment of a segmentation method of the coronary vessels in C-arm CT datasets.
Cardiac interventions highly benefit from three-dimensional image guidance, as such procedures are typically performed with C-arm angiography systems, which allow the reconstruction of a 3D volume of the heart. The ability to measure diameters of coronary vessels from this data is important in planning of intervention and treatment of stenosed arteries. Thus, the development of a method for accurate coronary arteries segmentation is relevant and a considerable problem.
The project is carried out in collaboration with Siemens AG, Healthcare Sector.
