Inhalt:
Recent research papers from the field of granular matter are discussed in this journal club. The journal club is open to a limited number of physics students, who can take this course as a seminar. Possible topics for seminar presentations by students are, e.g., packings of non-spherical particles, granular entropy, pattern formation in granular matter, granular flows, non-equilibrium statistical physics. Please send an e-mail to michael.schmiedeberg@fau.de if you are interested to participate.
Lernziele und Kompetenzen:
Students
comprehend an interesting physical topic in a short time frame
identify and interpret the appropriate literature
select and organize the relevant information for the presentation
compose a presentation on the topic at the appropriate level for the audience
use the appropriate presentation techniques and tools
criticize and defend the topic in a scientific discussion
Literatur:
Will be provided individually for each talk.
