- Inhalt
- Der Kurs besteht aus einer Theorie-Vorlesung in Quantenfeldtheorie und einer Experimentaphysik-Vorlesung in Kern- und Teilchenphysik.
Die Inhalte der Kern- und Teilchenphysik sind:
Kerne: Aufbau, Masse, Bindungsenergie
Kernmodelle
Kernzerfall und -spaltung, Kernkraftwerke
Streuprozesse, Rutherford-Streunng, Formfaktoren
Elektron-Nukleon-Streuung (elastisch, Resonanzanregung, tiefinelastisch)
Elementare Fermionen, Dirac-Gleichung
Wechselwirkungen, Feynmangraphen und -regeln, lokale Eichinvarianz
Elektromagnetische Wechselwirkung in Experimenten
Starke Wechselwirkung, QCD, laufende Kopplungskonstante, Confinement, Asymptotic freedom, Experimente zu starken WW, Hadron-Multipletts
Schwache Wechselwirkung, Paritätsverletzung, Quark-Mischung und CKM-Matrix, CP-Verletzung, pi- und µ-Zerfall, e+e- Streuung auf Z-Resonanz
Neutrinophysik
Standardmodell: Elektroschwache Vereinigung und Higgs-Mechanismus

- The integrated course 3 comprises a theory lecture on quantum field
theory and a lecture on experimental nuclear and particle physics.
The lecture on nuclear and particle physics covers:
Nuclei: Composition, mass, binding energy
Nuclear models
Nuclear decay, nuclear fission, nuclear power plants
Scattering processes, Rutherfdors scattering, form factors
Electron-nucleon scattering (elastic, resonance regime, deep-inelastic)
Elementary fermions, Dirac equation
Interactions, Feynman graphs and rules, local gauge invariance
Electromagnetic intreraction in particle experiments
Strong interaction, QCD, running coupling constant, confinement, asymptotic freedom, experimental investigation of strong interactions, hadron multiplets
Weak interactions, parity violation, quark mmixing and CKM matrix, CP violation, pi and µ decay, e+e- scattering on the Z resonance
Neutrino physics
The Standard Model: Electroweak unification and Higgs mechanism
(subject to smallish modifications). The lecture on quantum field theory covers:
