Inhalt:

The research internship (Forschungspraktikum) should ideally be completed in the third semester after having passed all mandatory courses. The aim of the research internship is to provide some hands-on experience in research. It is usually conducted at a university chair but can also be conducted at a research-oriented company. The research internship has a workload of 10 ECTS (300 hours). For completion, a presentation of about 20 min has to be given and a report of 10 to 15 pages has to be written. A research internship, which should be conducted at a company, needs to be supervised by a faculty of the EEI Department, which has to agree to supervise the internship before it can be started. A description of the content and goals of the intended research internship needs to be provided by the company such that the supervising professor can decide whether it meets the scientific and technical requirements and whether it falls into his or her field of expertise.
