nur Fachstudium, Sprache Englisch, In Cancer Systems Biology we analyze quantitative data from experimental models and patients using networkscomputational modelling and simulation techniques. The aim is to detect and understand processes deregulated and support cancer drug discovery. In this lectures series we introduce the basics of bioinformatics, network and computational modelling in Cancer Systems Biology. - Cancer Systems Biology is a novel approach, in which quantitative biomedical data are investigated using advanced computational tools for data analysis, machine learning, modeling and simulation. The ultimate aim is to elucidate the structure and functioning of biochemical networks deregulated in cancer, giving support in the construction of hypotheses about cancer progression, but also in cancer drug discovery and treatment personalization. In this lectures series we introduce the basics of Cancer Systems Biology, study data analysis strategies and mathematical modeling methods employed, and discuss their use in state-of-the-art case studies. The lectures have practical sessions on computer modeling and simulation of cancer.
