- Inhalt
- Experimental Linguistics presents a blend of theoretical and experimental approaches to the study of language. Its aim is to collect data, analyse it and try to integrate the emerging insights into the existing theoretical knowledge about language. Also, it often tries to understand differences between groups of speakers as well as within speakers by carefully manipulating certain variables. The goal of this class is to get acquainted with various experimental techniques (both quantitative and qualitative) as well as methods of data analysis that can be applied to studying language.
