- Inhalt
- This class serves as an introduction to postmodernity in general and postmodern North American literature in particular. We will discuss how postmodernism as an epoch may be defined (and distinguished from modernism) and which turns and trends in philosophy, theory, and the arts may be regarded as quintessentially postmodern. Turning to literature, we will consider a broad range of examples of North American texts usually ascribed to the literary period and examine which devices and techniques these texts employ—and to what end.
