- Das Seminar gehört in folgenden Studiengängen jeweils zu folgenden Modulen:

- Inhalt
- This course offers students an introduction to Asian American literatures from the mid-20th century until today. We will read a selection of canonical and contemporary texts (drama, novels/memoirs, and short stories) by authors such as Hisaye Yamamoto, David Henry Hwang, Maxine Hong Kingston, Karen Tei Yamashita, and Ocean Vuong. Our analyses will focus on central topics and themes including immigration and displacement, exclusion and citizenship, and the construction of gendered and racialized identities; and they will pay particular attention to the variety of styles and genres that shape Asian American literatures. Furthermore, we will situate the texts within the literary field as well as within their specific socio-cultural, political, and historical contexts.
