- "Das PS Linguistics gehört in folgendenStudiengängen jeweils zu folgenden Modulen:
- Inhalt
- This seminar deals with different genres of spoken English, ranging from speeches and radio broadcasts to everyday spoken conversation. At the beginning, we will focus on collecting and transcribing spoken data and on the transcription systems used for well-known spoken corpora such as the London-Lund-Corpus or the spoken part of the BNC. We will then study lexical and grammatical characteristics of the spoken language. We will also look at pragmatic and textual aspects (such as vagueness or the turn-taking structure), differences between natural and scripted conversations and the way that spoken English is represented in monolingual dictionaries. "
