Contents
This lecture aims at providing the necessary elements for a quantitative, physics-based modeling of the mechanical behavior of metals and alloys. It therefore covers in-depth the elements of the microstructure and their interplay with the mechanical properties of materials as well as their modeling.
• Basics in materials physics • Defects & microstructure evolution • Continuum mechanics • Phenomenological plasticity models • Crystal plasticity models • Finite Element Method

Recommended literature
P. Haasen, Physical Metallurgy Additional literature will be provided in the lecture.

ECTS information:
Title:
Applied Materials Science
