Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
Students who took up their studies as of WS 2020/21: Elementarmodul Landeskunde (L-UfE), to be taken in conjunction with English-Speaking World and Presentation Skills. Landeskunde-Modul (L-Gym), to be taken in conjunction with the Landeskunde Workshop. Students who took up their studies before WS 2020/21: Elementarmodul Landeskunde (L-UfE), to be taken in conjunction with Landeskunde Übung. Basismodul Culture (L-Gym).

Inhalt
The focus will be on both historical and current aspects. Topics include the British / American Context, History, Geography, Government, Education, Religion & Holidays, Politics, Media, Arts & Sports, Cultural Concepts in the UK and the US. Students engage with a very wide range of course material. They interact with various media sources (both UK and US). By the end of the module students are able to critically evaluate current events as they happen and they can reflect on issues with a good background understanding.
