- AS Culture belongs to "Basismodul IV" Culture in BA English and American Studies (new). There are no admission requirements, but it is strongly recommended to have attended and completed GS Culture. AS Culture extends the knowledge and skills acquired in GS Culture and is structured along the lines of cultural theory, cultural history and cultural analysis; central topics are national identity, nation, race and racial representation, ideology, counterculture, and consumer society. The course primarily focuses on the USA, Great Britain will be taken into account in an exemplary way in some of the case studies.
