- This course examines language teaching in primary school by focusing on the following foundational skills: listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing and mediation. We will investigate and critically analyze language teaching approaches and methods as well as individual teaching and learning styles and strategies. In this course, we will develop an exemplar curriculum for TESOL for grades 3 and 4 based on the Bavarian curriculum for English (Fachlehrplan and Fachprofil Englisch) with a focus on listening comprehension, speaking, reading, writing and mediation. Students will be required to prepare exemplar lessons in group work which will be presented, analyzed and reflected on.
