Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

Students learn

• about the complex physical behaviour of soft condensed matter and the importance of physics concepts for living matter and biological systems.

• the mathematical modelling of important principles of living matter (self-organisation, collective behaviour, and non-equilibrium processes).

• to solve exercises working collaboratively in groups, to apply approximation methods, to search for errors, to critically reflect presented theories and to defend them in discussions.

• the necessary expert knowledge and methods for research-oriented studies in an interdisciplinary network at the interface of biology, mathematics, and medicine.
