Empfohlene Voraussetzungen:

Basic knowledge in IT security, mathematics, networks, and cryptography

Inhalt:

This course gives an introduction to people-centric privacy and shows how to use methods and techniques from cryptography, distributed computing, and data analysis. It covers topics from different areas such as:

• Data anonymization techniques such as k-anonymity, k-closeness, l-diversity, differential privacy
  

• Anonymous communication
  

• Privacy for blockchains and cryptocurrencies
  

• Privacy enhancing technologies

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

On successfully passing the course, the students understand the difficulty of realizing privacy-preserving systems, understand the different terminologies, and use privacy-enhancing technologies to improve privacy in practical systems.

Wichtige Hinweise:

• Je nach Anzahl der Teilnehmer bzw. Verlängerung der Corona-Satzung findet die Modulprüfung entweder schriftlich (90 Min. Klausur) oder mündlich (30 Min.) statt. Die konkrete Prüfungsform wird zu Semesterbeginn bekannt gegeben.

• Die Erfahrung zeigt, dass ein Bestehen der Modulprüfung ohne die erfolgreiche Bearbeitung der Übungsaufgaben in der Regel äußerst schwer fällt. Wir empfehlen daher eindringlich das Erreichen aller Meilensteine des Übungsbetriebes.
