- Fundamentals of phase and microstructure transformation
Correlation between processing and microstructure
Simulation of thermodynamics, kinetics and mold filling, complemented by own programming work
Important processing technologies (casting, metal forming, powder metallurgy and joining technology)
Material systems Titanium-, Nickelbase- und Copperalloys, intermetallic phases, shape memory alloys, bearing und contact materials (production, processing, important alloys, application and new developments); in the case of mechanisms of particular practical importance, connection to the fundamentals of metal physics
