- WF Ph-BA ab 5 (ECTS-Credits: 5)
WF Ph-MA ab 1 (ECTS-Credits: 5)
- ECTS information:
- Title:
- Data acquisition and digital processing of analog signals
- Credits: 5
- Contents
- Typical data acquisition system will be discussed, consisting of preamplifier, main amplifier, analog-digital conversion and transmission lines for the signals.
Topics of the lecture include analog and digital filters (LTI-systems), transfer functions, operational amplifiers, noise and its suppression, signal transmission and the resulting effects on the signal shape for long transmission lines, sampling of analog signals and its pitfalls, treatment of digitised data.
At least one exercise will be held in the laboratory for a hands-on demonstration of some lecture topics.
The prerequisites of the lecture, e.g. Fourier transforms, passive electronic components (RLC-circuits) and relevant parts of electrodynamics will be repeated at the beginning of the lecture.
