Contents
The course conveys the theoretical foundations of modern teaching and introduces current methods for planning and teaching social science at primary schools.
Based on the theoretical foundations, a teaching project on ‘Europe meets School’ is developed and conducted at a primary school.
The course is targeted towards both German students and our international visiting students (e.g. with the Erasmus+ programme), who can introduce their home countries at a primary school.
The course is taught in English.
The seminar is part of the DAAD project ‘Europe meets School’ (www.europamachtschule.de).
The Institute of Primary Education Research participates in the project ‘Europe meets School’ and incorporates it into the regular range of courses in the form of a seminar.
The aim of this project is for international students to introduce their home countries to schoolchildren, thereby increasing their familiarity with Europe. The idea of European exchange comes to life on a personal level, reinforcing Europe’s unity and contributing to international understanding.
Important Information for our foreign exchange students: To register for this course please contact Dr. Renner in advance (guenter.renner@fau.de). Our foreign exchange students will get 5 ECTS for completing this course along with some extra tasks.
