- Inhalt
- This course offers an exploration into the history of English writing and literacy, from runic inscriptions and medieval manuscripts to printed texts and computer-mediated communication.
We will discuss the influence of textualization and changing writing technologies on the language and look at topics such as standardization, history of spelling, conceptual orality and literacy, changes in particular text types (e.g. letters, advertisement, news, or cooking recipes).
